Todmorden Mills Heritage Site is one of 10 historic museums operated by the City of Toronto.

Set in the scenic Don River Valley, the Museum is a unique settlement of early industry in Toronto. The present-day site consists of two historic houses, the Brewery Gallery, and the Paper Mill Gallery & Theatre, which have been restored to offer community programs.

To bring the theatre up to contemporary standards, several major issues were addressed including: accessibility, building services, and life safety.

An addition accommodates the Theatres' functional requirements while also protecting the historic masonry from further damage caused by environmental conditions. The masonry remains visible and without glare by the use of iron-free glass.

Restorations to the structures and post-industrial site have transformed the settlement into an environmental interpretive centre, successfully incorporating varied public programs. The Papermill Gallery regularly exhibits the works of local artists, community art groups, and emerging artists while the Theatre offers space for performance, community celebrations, and private events.
